What to Keep in Mind When Buying Dog Food Products?

To keep your pets healthy, safe and strong you need to feed them the right pet food products. One of the most important aspects of raising dogs is deciding what kind of food is best for them. There are a wide variety of dog food products available in the pet food market and this makes it more difficult to choose the right food products for your dog.

Deciding which food product would meet the specific needs of your dog is difficult but to make your life easy here are a few factors to look for when buying pet food products for your dog.

Oils and Fats

There is a myth that oils and fats are not good for health but in reality, they are necessary to make a diet nutritionally balanced. Oils and fats accelerate vitamin absorption in dogs and also provide energy and flavour. Pet food products containing a certain percentage of oils and fats help the dog to maintain a healthy and shiny coat. You need to opt for a dog food product that contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

It is not mandatory for a dog food product to contain vegetables but they are a rich source of a wide range of vitamins and minerals. However, you need to make sure that the dog food product does not have onions, garlic or mushrooms as these vegetables are considered to be highly toxic for dogs.

Carbohydrates and Grains

You need to buy food products that contain grains. Good quality dog food products contain grains in order to introduce carbohydrates in the diet. Carbohydrates act as the source of energy for dogs. Grains improve the digestive system of your dogs and keep them healthy. However, if your dog is allergic to carbohydrates, you need to look for grain free options.

Protein can be derived from a wide range of sources like rabbit, salmon, beef, chicken and more. When you check the protein content in pet food products, make sure that you don’t forget to look at the ingredients list. Most healthy and nutritionally balanced dog food products will specify the name of the meat at the top of the ingredient list.

When checking the ingredients of pet food products for your dog, you need to look for natural preservatives like ascorbic acid and tocopherols. These preservatives are good for your dog’s health and they will help your dog to stay fresh and energetic.

Keeping these factors in mind is one of the best things you can do for your pet dog. Buying the right pet food products for dogs will not only keep their hairy coat shiny and healthy but also improve the immune system and keep the digestive system in good condition.

4 Amazing Benefits Of Natural Pet Foods

People are becoming much more health conscious nowadays! Since we are well-informed about the food status in the current market, we can pick our own diet much more confidently and cautiously. People are trying to shift towards organic foods, because they are not genetically modified, developed naturally and are toxin free.

So why our pets should be kept away from consuming organic naturally produced food supplies? Being a pet lover, we should treat our pets the same we treat ourselves. There are plenty of benefits to it too! Here is a list of all the benefits of feeding your beloved pets with natural pet foods:

No Animal By-Products and Preservatives

Majority of the pet products contain animal by-products such as diseased tissues, gluten, chicken meal and fillers. These foods can harm your pets by causing them to loose hair, give stomach problems or might not be nutritious enough for proper growth and physical development. You would never eat such meals so why waste it on your adorable companions?

It is better to take some time to do a bit of research before buying the right food products for your pets. Look for products that are free from animal by-products, preservatives and artificial flavourings. You could ask your local veterinarians for any leads. Natural pet foods are the best options over the locally found ones. They are free from all the toxins and additives that might cause immune disorder and unhealthy weight gains.

Happier and Healthier Pets

Without proper nutrition your pet will not grow to be a healthy companion. They will always be tired, lazy and will be less willing to socialise and be playful. Nutrition also affects the overall body features, such as skin and coat conditions, physical development and the overall energy level. Naturally produced foods come packed with all the valuable nutritional contents required for your pets to develop, grow and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Your pet will be healthy both internally and externally ensuring a healthier lifestyle.

Protection from Diseases And Allergies

If your pet is suffering from allergies, chances are because of the artificial food coloring’s that your pet is not immune to. Additionally, the toxic pesticides, additives and other harmful chemicals present in the food supplements can cause allergic reactions too.

Changing to organic and natural pet foods can easily help solve such issues. Naturally produced foods do not contain artificial additives and flavourings and are completely safe for the pets to consume. These items will hardly affect the immune system of your buddies and will be less susceptible to diseases and allergies.

Increased or longer life span

Organic foods help maximize the life expectancy of your pet. Since they are produced without any artificial flavoring, fillers and additives, they are nutritious and healthy to eat. As a result consuming them on a regular basis will ensure a longer life span. Here is how:

  • Less digestive problems: heavy source of rains and proteins make them easily digestible. The bowel movement stays predictable and does not affect the lifestyle of your pet.
  • Greater energy levels: A natural pet food provides all the necessary fuel required to keep your pet buddies energetic and physically stronger.
  • Maintain a healthy weight: The risk of being over-weight or under-weight is eliminated when you feed your pet organic foods on a regular basis.

It all started with Bess- Tasmanian Animal Supplies was born!!!

From day 1 Ryan & Jenni Tate from Tate animals in N.S.W were there for me it was always going to be a challenge being so far away from each other but somehow we made it work. I look back and having grown up and worked on farms in my early years of employment certainly put me in good stead of my love of animals. I can’t think of a day I didn’t have one of my working dogs beside me whether it on the tractor in hay season or on the back of my bike going to get the cows for milking. I was lucky enough to work with the detection dogs in the armed forces but all of this experience was greatbut teaching a assistance dog was a whole new level and I cant thank Ryan and Jenni Tate enough for what they did for me. I first got into contact with Ryan & Jenni after seeing Ryan on a program that ran on abc television . That night I sent a email to them and from that day forward Ryan & Jenni were nothing short of fantastic to me and bess I would recommend that anyone that reqquiries specialised training to contact Ryan & Jenni Tate via there website first as Ryan is extremely busy www.tateanimals.com

I knew with my condition I needed someone that loved dogs as much as I did so I needed someone I could trust as I was handing over my Beloved bess to exercise and socialise Bess. Whilst doing my market research I was recommended to a dog walker as it was critical for Bess be socialised to the world every sight smell sound as a assistance dogs job is a big one this is where Bess was exposed to all elements she would require this to be a service dog I was recommended to Ymogen Morton-Polden & Ymogen hit it off with Bess straight away!!.

Ymogen came with such love for animals and the instant bond Ymogen and Bess & Ymogen connected was very satisfying for me. After just 3 weeks Ymogen and myself formed a very strong close friendship and I believe the friendship started by having conversations of growing up on a farm it is a way you connect with people.

As we were in the forefront of all the encounters we had come across collectively decided to start up a ecommerce website business based in Launceston Tasmania.

Keeping your Cats Cool over the summer months

Body language is the key

Pale-coloured cats are vulnerable to sunburn; particularly on their ears, noses and sparsely haired areas.
Sun damage can lead to skin cancer which may require extensive surgery – even amputation in severe cases.
The best prevention is to keep your cat indoors when the sun is strongest, between 11.00am and 3.00pm.
Alternatively, cover vulnerable areas or regularly apply a non-toxic waterproof human sunblock or a product specifically for pets.
Seek prompt veterinary advice if your cat’s skin looks sore, crusty or scaly.
Your cat needs access to clean water at all times, ideally in a large bowl filled to the brim. Older cats are particularly vulnerable to dehydration.
Grooming is important
longhaired cats, in particular, A tangle-free coat will protect cats delicate skin and keep them cool. Some cats may need their coats trimming speak to your local Groomer seek advice from a professional groomer.
How to keep your cat cool and prevent heatstroke

• Cats can suffer fatal heatstroke within minutes
• Make sure your cat has access to clean water at all times, ideally, a large bowl filled to the brim
• On hot days let your cat outside during the cooler parts of the day, in the early morning and late evening
• Watch your cat for signs of over-heating, including heavy panting and loss of energy. If you recognize these signs, encourage your cat to have a drink.

• Signs of heatstroke include collapse, excessive panting, and dribbling. If you suspect your cat is suffering, move them to a cool place, preferably with a draught, wet their coat and contact a vet immediately. Avoid overcooling by using cool, not freezing, water.

Curious cats seek out cooling breezes in the summer, and at this time of year, vets treat around a hundred cats with serious injuries after falling from heights when their owners open the windows. Sadly, some do not survive their injuries.
To keep your cats safe and the temperature low inside your home during the summer months, either install tip and tilt windows, which allow air into the room without offering access outside to curious cats, or use wire mesh, netting or a screen across windows when they are open to prevent the cats getting out.

Our pets owners are always the best to know if there is a problem “body language is always the key to knowing if your pet is stressed out especially during the warmer months!.
